Can you trust the listing photos when buying a home in Florida? One of my buyers recently found a Treasure Coast condo online that looked completely renovated—beautiful floors, freshly painted walls, new white appliances, and a description that made the property sound fantastic.

Then we walked through the front door.

For a few minutes, I genuinely thought I had taken my buyer into the wrong condo.

The MLS photos had been altered using AI, and the property description reflected features shown in those altered images. The actual condo was very different from what we had seen online.

But that’s only the beginning of this story.

Those discrepancies helped us negotiate $35,000 off the price, but after the home inspection uncovered additional problems, my buyer had an important decision to make: Was this still a good property—or simply a lower price on the wrong property?

She walked away.

And what happened when the condo went back on the market surprised me even more.
